Sterling Character
Sunday, April 15, 2012 Like a sparkling diamond, sterling character has many facets to present a complete view. Some are viewed obliquely while others see us directly from the front. Persons with a nature character don’t envy the capabilities or expertise of others. We wish them well. We don’t brag on our achievements but graciously listen to other’s successes. Arrogance is not part of our personality but brag on the good points of others. Greed can control us so we search for ways to help others to wealth. Our behavior is above reproach so we serve as a role model for family and those under our supervision.
Polished facets of our sterling character reflect the sparkle back to our eyes. We daily extend kindness to all our associates whether they deserve it or not. Sometimes being patient requires a terrific amount of effort. Then we recall how many wonderful persons were patient with us. They extended hope to encourage us to continue. When asked for our opinion, we were always tactfully truthful. Honesty is seen in all our actions and transactions. The central and prominent facet is love. This is the principal attribute others see in our life. God is happy with us when we try to love all we encounter.
Let’s take the challenge this week to insert these good traits and discard the virtues that detract from a sterling character.
