    Feed It

A major portion of the world is struggling in poverty and enduring starvation conditions. Affluent countries like the United States promote the theory of taking care of number one. The Bible urges us to be our brothers’ keeper. We need to change our focus to helping someone today whether it is a poor soul in the subway entrance or in a third world country.

Wise King Solomon presents a time proven principle. If a person holds too tightly to their wealth it will vanish (Prov. 11:24). While those who help others in need will in due time will be blessed by God.

Some persons strive desperately to accumulate a million dollars in their lifetime. In the meantime, the love for their spouse takes ninth place on the priority list. We are to let nothing come between the love for God and family. When time for dying comes, we’ll see exactly how pitiful money is compared to family and friends.

Today, let’s begin to feed the desire help others. As we give to others, God can then multiply it back to us (Luke 6:38). May the love for God and family be the strongest in our life.
