    Curry Favor

Most of us labor under the mistaken impression that we can get everyone to like us, or at the minimum, accept us. Continually we feel like the odd one out.

A television evangelist ran across this chart. The clip said that one fourth of society won’t ever like you. We can treat them with extra care. Their reply is why didn’t you treat them better, or loan them more money. Another fourth of the people like you but could easily be convinced to not like you. The third quarter are neutral, but with the slightest gesture could be convinced to like you.

So this leave the last quarter of society that almost immediately thinks you are special. After they are introduced and become acquainted, they will be your friend and loyal supporter. If and when we ask for their help, they are more than glad to assist.

In conclusion, if the above chart is correct, we need to realize that the majority of the people in our sphere of influence will never care about us, so stop trying to get those people to recognize and love us. Wisely use our time and energy to befriend the small portion of people that will be our support and our friend.
