    Coaching Leadership

Today, we would like to talk about a non-confrontational type of leadership. Coaching instead of demanding is well received by employees. Work alongside them, work with them, and coach how to be more efficient or do the work the correct way. Model their job. Show what you desire in a worker. Never criticize or flat out correct behavior. Many from their childhood know about an authoritarian. Negative and resentful feelings are circumvented with this type of changing behavior.

There is only one obvious weakness. Since we come out of the office and have verbal conversation, we might become friends. If we are friends with the boss, we don’t feel a need to obey him. It is similar to the ball coach and a volunteer coach.

Implementing coaching leadership is done gently. The changes that need to be done should be done as someone by the immediate supervisor not from the head office. The best way is to work alongside for a short period of time. This plan doesn’t take a lot of time, maybe working alongside them for only fifteen minutes. The correction could be couched in soft admonition. “Could you do it this way? Would it be better if you saved these useless motions?” Accusing in forceful words is not part of coaching.

Coaching leadership is effective whether in a small group or on a corporate scale. Profitable improvements from fear are short lived but lasting change comes from a comfortable cooperation.
