    Prioritizing

What is your excuse for not reaching your goal? Don’t know where to start? Don’t have enough money? Don’t have any influential friends? No workable plan? Well, let’s begin by prioritizing our goals.

First, set short term goals. These can be done in the coming month. If we don’t do something toward our goal today, we will not succeed tomorrow. Some days are so busy we don’t get to work toward our dream. Even so, we must keep our eyes open for what we can do next or for a possible opportunity.

There must be a solid commitment for the long haul. Abraham Lincoln exemplified this in his life. First, he operated a store. Then Abe became a surveyor. Next, he secured the job as postmaster. He ran for Illinois State Legislature but lost. The next four times he was successful. Later he became an attorney. Then he won the race for U. S. House of Representatives. Then he unsuccessfully ran for the U S Senate. Later, he won the coveted office of U. S. President.

Next, set some intermediate goals for a couple of years from now. An effective goal must affect a change in our daily activities. Our dream will cull out unnecessary and non-essential time consuming activities. If we can’t drop them, at least, keep our dream in mind. When we finish these mandatory things, we will pick up where we left off.

All human personalities were created by God to succeed and accomplish something worthwhile in their life.
