    Appreciation

The way to get employees to produce to their maximum level is to show your appreciation. There are a number of ways such as: team spirit, their input, co-operation to great productivity. This can be expressed at a recognition dinner as an award or as simply as a hand written note, email, memo or a hand on their shoulder accompanied by an attaboy comment.

We all like to feel appreciated and important to the operation. Genuine appreciation always produces a positive effect. Even an off-handed or off the cuff note of their excellent work produces a positive feeling within the recipient. The author of Mark Twain once confessed he was motivated for several months by one sincere compliment.

Even at work, love and kindness can be passed on in the giving of a complementary comment of appreciation.
