    Always Plan

Before Donald Trump builds a skyscraper, he plans in detail. How deep do we go with the foundation? What reliable company will do the work? Where are the people to occupy the building? What bank will forward the money?

Like Mr. Trump, we need to create a written plan to reach the goal we have visualized. If we don’t plan, it is doomed to failure.

Plan for several contingencies as all plans bring difficulties with them. When a plateau comes in our progress decide ahead of time what we will do. Stopping or giving up are not viable options. Prepare for people who will put us down and situations that will stonewall our plans. How will we go over, around or under these difficulties? When the path turns out to be a dead-end, decide what we will try next. Remember that our plans are only a rough draft not chiseled in stone. If we don’t plan an alternative route, at least, we need to be open to change.

On the way to success we should intentionally organize our support group. Nurture their desire to help or infect them with our dream. Goals are seldom, if ever, achieved by ourselves. Continue to study processes, plans, and procedures to assist us in obtaining the goal. As we focus on the goal, let’s be sure to maintain our peripheral vision. Ever so often unexpected opportunities drift past us. I like to think God causes them to come to our aid. He wants each of us to succeed.

If you have not, set down this week and start a rough draft plan to reach that dream. Next, take one small step toward the goal. Work our plan.
