More Like Jesus
Monday, May 16, 2011 It seems so natural for us to put others down without even thinking. How easy it is for us to decide they aren’t dressed right, use inappropriate language, frequent the unsuitable establishments or associate with unsavory friends.
Let us replace our eye glasses of criticism with ones that focus on others with love. Let’s begin to view them as ones who need a little more of God’s love in their life. When we criticize we are definitely unaware of what might have happened in their life to cause then to act like they do. Can we extend to them the shadow of doubt? Let us exchange our attitude of judgment and prejudice to one of compassion. Our Jesus was so kind, loving and gentle. Jesus would interrupt his schedule if He found someone in need. Our desire to be helpful should be strong enough to make us late getting home. The good Samaritan was late getting to his destination. Jesus was always doing good for those in his life.
Have we ever thought that God did not send people into our life for us to judge or criticize? The Father’s desire is that we love and encourage those God sends our way. So beginning today we pledge to be more like Jesus, our Savior.
