Invisible But Real
Sunday, March 27, 2011 How enjoyable it is to be riding along in our car on a sunny spring day. Sound occupies every inch of the car’s interior with the bass notes vibrating the skin cells on our face. We are almost transported to the symphony hall.
Have you thought about how the most beautiful melodies got to the car? The D J selected the number on the CD and began playing it. The sound changes to electronic frequencies and sent invisibly into the air. The car radio snatched the signal out of the air. There you sit in the warm sunshine enjoying the soothing music.
How similarly God works in our life. Invisibly the Holy Spirit guides our decisions whether at work or with our family. Sometimes God’s invisible power shows up in our lives. The Delta (737) flight was uneventful until all at once the plane stopped its forward motion and started a sudden descent. We were caught in wind shear. This 100,000 pound airplane was rapidly dropping like a rock toward earth and a disastrous landing. We sped down 3,000 feet. There was only 1,000 feet left to death. Out of the thin blue sky God or one of his angels gave the plane a shove out of that downdraft. Maybe the Lord stood behind the two huge jet engines to give it forward thrust. Thanks to the invisible power of God eight crew members and one hundred and twenty nine passengers were saved.
Today trust the invisible all-powerful hand of Almighty God.
