Abundant Living
Sunday, March 13, 2011 Is our life in the “get by” mode? Would we have to put a house jack under our outlook to find anything close to “abundant living?”
What could Jesus have meant when he said overflowing life? Could we have a new car, a big new house and all we could wish for? Well, I know some Christians who are happy all the time but only earn enough to feed their family and keep their old car running. Maybe that could be called abundant living. Haven’t we seen several super rich people who are extremely unhappy?
Abundant living could be the pleasure of helping a coworker or poor family we often meet on the way to work.
Abundance could be in our boundless energy, positive attitude and our brimming love. We could help many through our financial or physical assistance. Abundance could be the ever-flowing encouragement we pass along to those we meet. Could this abundance be the love that others will receive from us?
It seems that abundant living is about the plenty we pass along, as much as the abundance we receive and enjoy.
