Taking New Responsibilities
Sunday, October 9, 2011 Successful leaders accept responsibility and honestly evaluate their shortcomings. When others have enough faith to promote us to a higher position, they accept that responsibility graciously. They learn to relax in the new position and let their mind work on solving current problems as they arise. Successful leaders don’t let doubt and insecurity win in the battlefield of their mind.
If they aren’t knowledgeable in a certain area, they immediately start using spare time to learn. They can succeed, if they trust in God and put confidence in themselves.
When a stubborn problem arises, they may have to employ the trick new teachers use. They tell the class that I’ll tell you tomorrow. That will give them twenty-four hours to find a solution while saving face before peers or subordinates. After surviving close calls, work out all the problems with solutions. Prepare for problems but don’t yield to our inadequate feelings or urges at that time.
